Healing In Community
In 2020, founder, Kimberly Leighton's husband Peter, was diagnosed with glioblastoma. As a beloved doctor in town, their family (including five school-age children), was supported by the community in so many ways. A local meal train was started, someone offered to come and provide massages for the family, people came over to clean their house, clean up their yard, and offer to give rides to the children. After Peter's passing, Kim started the Silver Linings program to help support families undergoing stress, grief and trauma. Silver Linings offers free (donation-based) services which include support groups, massage, reiki, spiritual readings and grief yoga to help reduce the long term effects of stress which can lead to illness, complex grief, and early morbidity.

I hold a B.A. of Sociology from the University of Southern Maine and am a Reiki III Level Master/Teacher. At age 14, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and have lived with chronic illness most of my life. Over the years, I battled with ups and downs of dis-ease and thought, “there’s got to be another way”. Finally, I was introduced to reiki as a tool to help manage stress and pain. Having experienced my first reiki session, I knew it was something I wanted in my day-to-day life and pursued reiki trainings.
Shortly after gaining my certifications and working with the public, I quickly discovered that giving reiki is what I was meant to do. During a session with me, I provide a peaceful, safe, meditative space where I perform light touch and/or no-touch Reiki. My clients have permission to slow down, relax, and allow the body, mind, and soul to continue self-healing.

Fair in Windham, Maine.

Combined with my personal life experiences of challenges, loss and grief, and working as a messenger
of Spirit, I have found my gift and how to apply this towards helping humanity, one soul at a time.
